According to Kommersant, fast food turned out to be the only category of the capital's catering that managed to increase the flow of customers.
"The owners of such outlets manage to attract customers from more expensive segments," the report says.
Meanwhile, experts are convinced that fast food will also lose its clientele if the decline in household incomes continues: people will be forced to eat at home.
Experts estimate that the attendance of fast food establishments in Moscow has increased by 3% in 11 months, and turnover - by 16%. However, analysts are not enthusiastic about the latest figure, explaining that the check has grown due to inflation and rising prices for dishes.
The drop in restaurant traffic was 3% with revenue growth of 6%. Against this background, many investors began to pay attention to fast food, which has a higher turnover than restaurants. The latter, in the conditions of crisis and general uncertainty, are increasingly being closed, while almost no new establishments are being opened. Experts believe that this year the entire restaurant business, including those fast food establishments located in shopping malls, has suffered from a drop in traffic. After the start of the military operation and the announcement of partial mobilization, many potential restaurant customers left the country or started saving.
People have become much less likely to visit the shopping center, the incomes of restaurateurs have collapsed. Market participants call this drop the strongest in the last five years.
