"To ensure the protection of public order and the safety of citizens on New Year's Eve, it is planned to involve more than 7,1 thousand people", - the message says.
They include 3,500 police officers, 3,300 representatives of Rosgvardiya, as well as more than 300 employees of private security organizations. Coordination of work on the protection of order during the holidays will be handled by a specially created temporary Operational headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow.
The Moscow authorities announced that public transport on New Year's Eve will work for free. This mode is introduced from 20:00 on December 31 to 6:00 on January 1. The New Year's address of the president will be broadcast in the subway, congratulations recorded by the voices of popular artists will be heard on escalators and in ground transport. Transport was also promised to be decorated. Officials do not plan to block the streets on New Year's Eve.
On Christmas night, the metro and MCC will work until 2:00 inclusive, ground transport - until 3:30, night routes will also work. The movement of the MCD trains will last until 3:00.
Earlier, the Ministry of Labor warned that the New Year holidays for most Russians will last from December 31 to January 8 inclusive.
According to opinion polls, this year a significant part of Russians intend to spend holidays at home.
