China has been lifting coronavirus restrictions on entry into the country from abroad since January 8. Visitors no longer need to take PCR tests on arrival, as well as observe mandatory quarantine.

This is reported by the General Customs Administration of China. At the same time, the country retains the requirement to provide a PCR test made no later than 48 hours before departure.

In addition, from January 8, the mandatory requirement for testing for coronavirus of frozen products imported into the country is canceled.

Recall that on the eve of the Chinese authorities decided to open their borders from January 8. At the same time, there is an increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the country. The daily incidence has increased to 30-40 million. In December, 250 million people were infected with coronavirus in the country, which is a fifth of the country's population.

At the beginning of the pandemic, China adhered to a "zero tolerance" strategy for the coronavirus. Strict restrictions were imposed in the country for isolated cases of the disease in order to prevent its spread.
