The Yaroslavl Regional Court handed down a life sentence to Vitaly Molchanov, a resident of Rybinsk, for sexual violence and the murder of two young girls.

The "Rybinsk maniac" will serve his sentence in a special regime colony. In addition, the court ordered Molchanov to pay 10 million rubles to the father of the girls he killed, and 2 million rubles to the mother.

At the same time, the examination found that Molchanov committed the crime while being sane, although two initial examinations indicated that he had psychiatric abnormalities. In October, the maniac's case was submitted to the Yaroslavl Regional Court. During the investigation, it turned out that Molchanov had committed similar crimes before. In 2010, Molchanov raped and killed a child.
