The capital of Genghis Khan will be restored in Mongolia

The signing of the document is timed to the 860th anniversary of the birth of the great Emperor Genghis Khan. 

- The President of Mongolia issued a decree on the restoration of the capital of Great Mongolia Karakorum in the historical and cultural monument of the Orkhon Valley, -  News.mn quotes Khurelsuh's speech.

According to the President, Karakorum can become a new center of socio-economic, cultural and spiritual development. During the Mongol Empire, the capital managed to unite world civilizations and religions, "the city existed in peace, without wars and conflicts". At present, Karakorum (350 km east of Ulaanbaatar) remains a sparsely populated center of Somon Kharkhorin. The Kharkhorum Museum complex is located there.
