The investigation has opened another criminal case against the suspect in the murder of model Gretta Vedler, whose body was found in a suitcase in Moscow.

According to REN TV, in relation to the former lover of the model, 23-year—old Dmitry Korovin, along with the murder case, another criminal case was opened - for theft.

The investigation believes that after the murder of the girl, committed on the grounds of jealousy, Korovin stole the victim's smartphone worth more than 40 thousand rubles, and also withdrew all her money from Gretta's account.

"Korovin disposed of the stolen property at his own discretion," the report says.

Fashion model Gretta Vedler disappeared in February 2021 after a night in a Moscow hotel, spent in the company of Dmitry Korovin.

The body of the deceased was found only a year later: all this time the model's corpse was lying in a suitcase in the trunk of a car.

When communicating with investigators, the suspect admitted that he tried to get rid of the body by "improvised means" — using activated charcoal and citric acid, but they did not help. The results of the examination conducted in the hotel room where the murder took place helped to expose Korovin. Despite a sufficient amount of time that has passed since the commission of the crime, experts managed to find and identify traces of the victim's blood.
