A man was killed in a fire at the Rostov NPP

On the evening of December 31, 2022, a block transformer of the third power unit, which was under repair, caught fire at the Rostov nuclear power plant.
This is reported by RostovGazeta with reference to Rosenergoatom. While extinguishing the fire, one person was killed, another employee of the NPP was seriously injured, now he is in the hospital. According to preliminary data, the radiation background at the nuclear power plant is within normal values.
The Rostov NPP provides 50% of the total electricity production in the Rostov region.
