The Indonesian authorities recommended that banks consider using Mir cards

Indonesian Ambassador to Moscow Jose Antonio Morato Tavares said that the country is "still in the process" of considering the use of cards of the Russian payment system "Mir".
- We recommended (the country's banks to consider using Mir cards), but I think it will take some time. We know that Mir cards are already used in many countries – in Turkey, Vietnam, in the CIS. In Indonesia, we are still in the process," RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying. In Indonesia, mainly on the island of Bali, there are about 40 thousand Russian citizens who "find ways" to conduct banking operations.
In November 2022, Turkish hotels began to connect Russian payment services to accept cards issued in Russia. At least five hotels have confirmed the acceptance of such cards. Hotels connect the Russian Sigma system, which allows accepting even Visa and Mastercard cards issued in Russia. The payment goes through an intermediary.
