Due to abnormal frosts in Moscow, the temperature of the coolant in the heat supply system was increased to the maximum possible values — 130 degrees.

This was stated by the deputy mayor of the capital, Pyotr Biryukov.

"On Wednesday, it was decided to start a gradual increase in the temperature of the coolant in the heating system," Interfax quoted Biryukov as saying.

According to forecasters, the night from January 5 to January 6 became the frostiest since the beginning of winter in Moscow and a number of regions of Central Russia. In the capital, it got colder to 22 degrees, and in the coming days the air temperature will drop to minus 26. Frosts will last five days. Meteorologists warn that until January 10, inclusive, the average daily air temperature will be 9-17 degrees below the climatic norm.

On the eve of the evening, residents of a number of regions of the country received emergency warnings from the Ministry of Emergency Situations about a sharp drop in air temperature. In the Kostroma region, it is expected to minus 37, in Yaroslavl — to minus 30, in Tver and Vladimir — to minus 27.

Residents of the regions were asked to be careful when using electrical appliances and comply with fire safety rules.
