Frosts are expected in the Kostroma and Yaroslavl regions in the next two days. The air temperature will drop to minus 35-40 degrees, which is 20-22 degrees below normal. This was announced by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.

"On January 9 and 10, severe frosts will remain in the morning in the Yaroslavl region — up to 35 degrees and below, and in the Kostroma region — minus 35-37 degrees, and in the east of the region — up to minus 40 degrees and below. This is really dangerous", - Roman Vilfand told TASS.

Blizzards with wind gusts up to 24-27 meters per second are forecast in five more regions - in the Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Kemerovo regions, as well as in the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic. There will be heavy ice in these regions.

In Moscow on Monday, it is forecast to minus 15-17 degrees. In the Moscow region, the air temperature will drop to 20 degrees. A slight warming is expected from Tuesday.

It's worth reminding that last Christmas night was the coldest in Moscow since the beginning of winter. By six o'clock in the morning, the air temperature in the capital dropped to minus 23.4 degrees.
