According to Mikhalkov, he was forced to make an official statement about his state of health by "the amount of unthinkable, little-relevant information" about him in the media and social networks.
"I want to say that for now I remain in the hospital, I continue to undergo examinations and receive the necessary treatment", - Mikhalkov said.
On the eve of the media, citing a representative of the capital's hospital, reported that the 77-year-old director, the head of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, is in intensive care.
Earlier it became known that Mikhalkov was admitted to the hospital on January 5.
As Kommersant notes, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov told reporters on January 10 that Vladimir Putin "empathizes" with the director and wishes him a speedy recovery.
Previously, Mikhalkov was Putin's confidant during the presidential election campaign.
