Russian Post has replaced its CEO. Instead of former Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov, the board of directors of the state-owned company was headed by Mikhail Volkov (pictured).

The decision of the Board of Directors comes into force today, January 11, 2023. Under Akimov's leadership, the state-owned company adopted a strategy until 2030, which provides for the transformation of Russian Post into a digital logistics provider. Akimov was appointed head of the Russian Post in January 2020 after the resignation of Dmitry Medvedev's Cabinet of Ministers, where Akimov served as Deputy Prime Minister.

Volkov worked at Alfa-Bank and VTB until 2017, heading regional businesses. Then he was appointed to the position of General Director for Operational Management of the Russian Post. At the end of last year, the authorities approved his candidacy for the post of head of the Russian Post.
