The Kremlin is skeptical about the estimates of Russia's losses from the oil price ceiling

Russia has not yet felt the impact of Western countries setting a ceiling on prices for Russian oil. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov.

Dmitry Peskov was skeptical about the estimates of the Helsinki Center for Energy and Clean Air Research (CREA) of the losses of the Russian economy from the establishment of the marginal oil price. Recall that the center estimated the daily losses from the establishment of these restrictions at $ 172 million.

"Obviously, there is no invoice for such conclusions. Therefore, I would be skeptical about all these forecast figures," the presidential press secretary said. His words are quoted by Kommersant. Dmitry Peskov added that so far the country has not actually faced restrictions on oil prices.

Recall that the EU countries have set the price ceiling for Russian oil at $ 60 per barrel since December 5 last year. CREA predicts that Russia's losses from the price ceiling will increase to $ 280 million from February 5, after restrictions on petroleum products come into force.
