The Armenian Prime Minister believes that "a political conversation should begin between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh."

The leadership of Nagorno-Karabakh should not allow situations in which they can be accused of disrupting the dialogue with Baku. "Our colleagues in Nagorno-Karabakh should not allow anyone to accuse them of disrupting a constructive conversation or of actions that make this conversation impossible," Pashinyan said.

He urged to avoid political statements that make the situation a dead end.

The blocking of the Lachin corridor, the Armenian Prime Minister said, is a provocation to start hostilities. "And we should not take steps that are desirable for the authors of the scenario of military escalation," the prime minister added.

On January 10, Pashinyan did not rule out that Armenia could replace Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh with an armed contingent of UN Blue Helmets. The Russian military has been in Karabakh since November 2020 on the basis of a trilateral agreement signed by Baku, Moscow and Yerevan. The Russians will control the situation in Karabakh for five years, unless one of the parties expresses a desire to change the agreement earlier.
