The State Hermitage Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery have become the most visited museums during the New Year holidays. The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova said that Russian museums received more than 1 million visitors during this period.

"More than a million people visited our federal museums during the New Year holidays. The leaders in attendance are the Hermitage and the Tretyakov Gallery, about 90 thousand people each became their guests," Lyubimova said during a briefing (quoted by Interfax).In addition, the successes of Tsarskoye Selo are noted, which received more than 80 thousand visitors during the New Year holidays.

The Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve received about 70 thousand people, and the Pavlovsk Museum-Reserve met 65 thousand guests. During the New Year holidays, about 50 thousand Russians visited the Museum of the World Ocean, and more than 40 thousand people visited the Russian Museum. Almost 40 thousand people received the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and the Novgorod Museum-Reserve.Tula museums were visited by about 40 thousand people in total.

About 15 thousand more visitors were met by the Peterhof, Pushkin Mountains, Maly Korely and Abramtsevo museums-reserves, and more than 11 thousand people visited the Tauride Chersonesos Museum-Reserve.According to the minister, almost 100 thousand young people visited federal museums during the New Year holidays according to the Pushkin map.
