Artillery units have been put on alert in Belarus

This is stated in a message on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

Recall that on the eve of the Defense Ministry announced the upcoming joint tactical flight exercises of the aviation units of the two countries. The exercises will take place from January 16 to February 1. It is planned to use all airfields and ranges of the Air Force and air defense forces.

The preparation of the joint group of troops has been going on since the autumn of last year. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko previously stated that the need to create this group was dictated by threats from Western countries. The basis of this grouping is the country's army. The number of Russian troops in it is insignificant, only about nine thousand people.

Recall that on the eve it became known about the withdrawal of part of the Ukrainian troops to the Belarusian border. In addition, the Ukrainian authorities reported on the construction of fortifications in the Rivne region of the country, which is located on the border with Belarus. The military began to dig trenches and build defensive structures. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called on the military to be prepared for various scenarios.
