In Lithuania, a village was evacuated due to an explosion on a gas pipeline

According to the LRT portal, the explosion occurred in the village of Vienkiemu - the authorities evacuated local residents. As a result of the explosion, a fire started, the open flame reaches 50 meters in height. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties.

TASS clarifies that the director of the district administration, Povilas Balciunas, announced that buses were sent to take out residents, as well as schools prepared for their accommodation.

In total, about 250 people live in the village. It is located 4 km from the district center.
