The blogger Belotserkovskaya arrested property for 153 million rubles

According to RIA Novosti, the blogger and publisher Belotserkovskaya* is accused of spreading fakes about the Russian army (paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

"Among the seized property: an apartment in St. Petersburg, a plot of land with a house, as well as a parking space", - writes Kommersant.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has declared Belotserkovskaya (pictured) wanted. She is currently abroad.

The blogger became a person involved in the criminal case of "fakes" after Veronika Belotserkovskaya posted three posts on her personal page in one of the social networks concerning the course of the special military operation (SVO) of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. They were dedicated to the bombing of a maternity hospital in Mariupol and the killing of civilians in Bucha.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not confirm the accuracy of the data on the events in Mariupol and Bucha, which made it possible for the security forces to initiate cases against citizens who shared links to the course of their actions in social networks.

According to the amendments introduced in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on March 4, 2022, in the case of army fakes, Belotserkovskaya may face a fine of 3 to 5 million rubles or imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.

Earlier, the courts have already handed down several harsh sentences under the article on "fakes". Municipal deputy Alexey Gorinov received 7 years in prison, opposition politician Ilya Yashin* was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison and banned from using the Internet for 4 years after his release. Human rights activists condemned such harsh persecution of citizens for nonviolent crimes and called what is happening "the fight against dissent."
