According to TASS, referring to Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov, visa-free agreements are currently being prepared with Mexico, Malaysia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Barbados, the Republic of Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, and Saint Lucia. Agreements are being worked out with Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Zambia. In addition, the period of visa-free stay in Hong Kong is planned to be increased from two weeks to 30 days.
Currently, citizens of more than 60 countries can enter the territory of the Russian Federation without visas. The fact that Russians were promised visa-free entry to the Persian Gulf countries became known at the end of last year.
Before that, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that work is also underway to establish a visa-free regime with Asian countries. Currently, the visa-free regime for Russian citizens operates with the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
