The former official will have to pay a fine of 150 million rubles.

Gumenyuk was sentenced by the Leninsky District Court of Vladivostok. The state prosecutor requested 17 years of a strict regime colony and a fine of 150 million rubles for the ex-mayor. The former mayor patronized the ritual business, and also helped his friend, an entrepreneur who was engaged in construction, to get lucrative contracts. Gumenyuk pleaded not guilty. He claims that he did not take bribes, and the accusation was based only on the testimony of businessman Sergei Sirotin, who slandered him in order to receive a minimum sentence. According to Vostok-Media, in November 2022 Sirotin was sentenced to four years in a penal colony and a fine of 62.5 million rubles.

Sirotin was an intermediary for Gumenyuk from December 2018 to February 2021. During this time, he handed over 31.3 million rubles to the mayor for the general patronage of the activities of MBU "Necropolis". Gumenyuk received another 6.9 million rubles in the period 2016-2018. At that time, he headed the State Budgetary Institution "Economic Management of the Primorsky Krai Administration".

Oleg Gumenyuk himself was arrested in the fall of 2021.
