Excise taxes on cigarettes and vaping liquids will be raised by 2 and 11 from March 1%

From March 1, Russia will raise excise taxes on cigarettes and cigarettes by 2% and increase excise taxes on vaping liquids by 11%. At the same time, excise taxes on electronic cigarettes will remain at the same level. The bill on this occasion was approved by the State Duma deputies in the second and third final readings.

So, from March 1, excise taxes on cigarettes and cigarettes will amount to 2,603 rubles per thousand units. Excise taxes will be about 16% of the estimated value of the goods. Excise taxes on vaping liquids will be raised to 20 rubles per milliliter. From January 1, 2024 - up to 21 rubles, and from January 1, 2025 - up to 22 rubles. In addition, it is proposed to establish excise taxes on heated tobacco.

They will amount to 8669 rubles per kilogram. Next year, excise taxes are planned to be raised to 9016 rubles per kilogram, and in 2025 - to 9377 rubles.Earlier, the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin instructed the relevant committees to study the issue and ban vaping for schoolchildren.
