Most of the retailers who announced the start of work in the Russian Federation could not do it because of problems with logistics.

According to Kommersant, referring to Nikoliers data, nine foreign brands entered the Russian market last year, whereas a year earlier there were 19 such brands. New retail chains in Russia are Turkish clothing and footwear brands Perspective, Efor, Ipekyol, Twist and Alex YVN from Armenia, a sporting goods store from China Li-Ning, cosmetic chains L&L Skin (Japan) and Vilhelm Parfumerie (USA).

In addition, we are talking about the Coffee Boom coffee chain from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

At the same time, according to NF Group, 11 new foreign brands started operating in the country in 2022, and in CORE.XP - that's ten instead of 16 a year earlier. Nikoliers added that in 2022, 23 retailers left the Russian market for the final exit, 27 companies continue to work in the country.

22 foreign retailers, which own 31 brands, have sold Russian divisions to top management or holdings from Turkey, China and the Middle East.
