The duties of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine will be performed by the head of the national police Igor Klimenko

Igor Klimenko (pictured), who currently holds the post of head of the National Police of the country, will serve as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine after the death of Denis Monastyrsky. This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

He added that the new candidacy of the Minister of Internal Affairs will be approved after discussion with Parliament.

Igor Klimenko has been the head of the national police since 2019.

Recall that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky died in a helicopter crash in Brovary. His deputy Yevgeny Enin was also on board the ship. He also died.

In total, 18 people died as a result of the shipwreck, including three children. Another 26 people were injured. Among the causes of the shipwreck, its malfunction, violation of safety rules, as well as sabotage are considered. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky instructed to investigate in detail the causes of the helicopter crash.
