"The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk handed down a verdict in a criminal case against the 68-year-old former chairman of the board of directors of the closed joint stock company production and construction company Soyuz. He was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (embezzlement)", - the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported.According to the court materials, it was established that the defendant, from January 2015 to March 2017, acting as the founder and head of the enterprise, embezzled more than 91 million rubles received from the owners of residential premises in 44 apartment buildings to pay for services.
It is noted that the defendant spent these funds at his own discretion, including the repayment of his own debt.The ex-deputy did not admit his guilt.
In the course of civil proceedings, it was possible to compensate for the damage caused in the amount of more than 80 million rubles."Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court found the man guilty, sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment with serving his sentence in a correctional colony of general regime", - the prosecutor's office reported.
The defendant was taken into custody in the courtroom.
At the moment, the verdict has not entered into force. According to RIA Novosti, the accused in the case is Yuri Turov, who was a deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council convocation of 2013-2018.
