HRC will strive for creating hospitals for the homeless

The Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation (HRC) will seek to create a hospital for the homeless in the country. This was stated by the head of the HRC Valery Fadeyev, noting that tens of thousands of people in need of help have nowhere to turn.

"The history of support for the homeless is ambiguous. The authorities have reported on grant support for socially oriented NGOs. Those who deal with the homeless, indeed, receive grants, and it's good that they receive, but we raised the issue of creating a hospital, and this topic is not moving yet", - Fadeyev said (quoted by Interfax).According to his statement, there are tens of thousands of "chronically ill and homeless" in the country who do not know where to go with their problems.

The head of the HRC recalled that in the past centuries such hospitals functioned in Russia. In this regard, he sees the need to promote the issue of creating hospitals for the homeless."We are not removing this topic from the agenda, we will seek the creation of such hospitals", - Fadeyev stressed.
