A draft on the right of the commander to appoint the arrest of warrant officers and sergeants was submitted to the State Duma

A draft was submitted to the State Duma on the right of the command of a military unit to impose disciplinary arrest on warrant officers and sergeants during the mobilization period. The document is posted in the electronic database of the lower house of Parliament.

According to the bill, it will also be possible to apply the norm under martial law. The authors of the initiative were the head of the Defense Committee Andrey Kartapolov and his first deputy Andrey Krasov.

If the initiative is supported, disciplinary punishment will affect warrant officers and midshipmen, sergeants, foremen, soldiers and sailors undergoing military service under contract, and citizens called up for military service on mobilization, with the exception of officers.

The term of the proceedings for misconduct will be limited to three days, and for bringing to disciplinary arrest — ten days.
