According to Kommersant, citing data from the country's Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, Austria has declared four Russian diplomats persona non grata.
According to the norms of diplomatic etiquette, they will be obliged to voluntarily leave the territory of Austria no later than the deadline specified by the authorities.
Earlier, a series of expulsions of Russian diplomats swept across Europe. The situation was particularly acute in the Baltic States.
As a rule, after the expulsion of diplomatic representatives, the Russian Foreign Ministry takes mirror measures and declares an equal number of diplomats of the opposite side as persona non grata.
