The issue remains "extremely controversial."

Sending fighters for the AFU is currently not on the agenda in the European Union, said the head of the European Diplomacy Josep Borrel. The issue is sure to cause disagreements among the leaders of European countries, it will be "Extremely controversial".

"My job is to try to reach a consensus, and one of the best ways is not to take positions that could put him at risk", - Borrel replied to a question from El País.

We need to focus on delivering the promised tanks to Kiev, Borrel pointed out. Earlier, after the delivery of tanks to the Kiev regime was announced, the EU authorities said that the next object of diplomatic contacts would be fighter jets and long-range missiles. Moreover, the United States and Germany have already stated that they will not supply fighter jets to Ukrainians. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he would not succumb to international pressure and would not change his position in the future, as happened with the sending of tanks. At the same time, French leader Emmanuel Macron did not rule out the possibility of such deliveries by Paris.
