Ukraine has imposed sanctions against the Russian nuclear industry for 50 years

President of the country Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on the introduction of restrictive measures against 200 companies from the Russian Federation, including the Rosatom State Corporation and its divisions, the corporate Academy, the International Research Center Based on the MBIR Reactor, the Rosatom Departmental Security, the Institute of Reactor Materials. The Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Zaporizhia NPP" (established in October last year), as well as other organizations, also fell under sanctions.

Kiev will begin blocking the assets of these enterprises, restrict or terminate trade operations with them, stop the fulfillment of economic and financial obligations and prohibit purchases.

- The decision of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions against the Russian nuclear industry has been put into effect. And this is not the last decision regarding this industry," Zelensky threatened in his tg channel.

He said that Moscow uses the industry as a lever of pressure on other countries, which means that this industry should fall under "global sanctions". Now Ukraine is allegedly working on this with its partners.

It's worth reminding that on February 28 last year, the Russian side took control of the Zaporozhye NPP, after which the APU continued to regularly fire at the facility. The IAEA mission visited the Zaporozhye NPP and confirmed numerous physical damage to the plant.
