Figure skater Roman Kostomarov had his left foot amputated

As Telegram channel 112 notes, the foot amputation operation took place the day before. Her goal was to stop the process of cell death. On one leg, the dead part of the tissue was cleaned, the second foot had to be amputated, as the lesion turned out to be too large.

TASS, citing a source, notes that the Russian figure skater had to amputate both feet.

The skater regained consciousness after the operation. He's on a drip. His body temperature is not stable after the operation. Doctors continue regular dressings.

It's worth reminding that the skater was hospitalized on January 10 with a severe form of pneumonia. He was connected to a ventilator. Later, the skater's condition somewhat stabilized. However, his limbs began to die off. Doctors amputated his fingers on his hands.
