The Russian Foreign Ministry called the seizure of Malafeyev's assets in favor of Kiev an undisguised robbery

"Through dubious legal tricks and manipulations" the American authorities have created a precedent for the confiscation of financial accounts and property "from undesirable foreign citizens":

:The mechanism of theft of other people's property, as it seems, is put on stream by Washington... The credibility of the American financial system will be further undermined", - Zakharova is sure.

On February 3, it became known that Washington will transfer to Kiev $5.4 million of the Russian businessman, the founder of the Tsargrad TV channel Konstantin Malofeyev. The U.S. Attorney's office believes that he was going to transfer their partners in violation of sanctions in 2015. For the first time, Washington decided to seize the assets of Russians in favor of Kiev.
