The Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and mobilization for 90 days

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the sixth time extended the effect of martial law and mobilization in the country from February 19 to May 20.

This is reported by Kommersant, referring to the publication "Ukrainian News". The corresponding bill was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the night before by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

"The Parliament approved laws No. 8419 on presidential decrees on the extension of martial law, 348 [people] voted for it. The action will be extended from February 19, 2023, and will last again for 90 days. The parliament also approved laws No. 8420 on presidential decrees on the extension of the general mobilization period, 344 [people] voted for, also the term from February 19, 2023, will last again for 90 days", - said Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak (quoted by TASS).

Martial law provides for a curfew, restrictions on movement, a ban on military service to change their place of residence. Also, the established mode introduces restrictions on the operation of the means of communication and the Internet.
