Tour operators reported sporadic cases of cancellations of trips to Turkey after the earthquake

Now, the volume of bookings of tours to this country is already being restored.

"We do not observe both cancellations of tours and requests for early completion of holidays in Turkey", - the press service of the tour operator Anex Tour commented to Interfax.

The company "Intourist" speaks about single cases of cancellation of tours. They noted that it is premature to talk about the resumption of demand for this direction, since too little time has passed since the incident.

Dmitry Gorin, Vice-President of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry (PCT), also reported on the lack of reaction from Russian tourists. He noted that this is due to the fact that the large-scale earthquake did not affect the traditional holiday destinations on the Mediterranean coast and Istanbul. Besides, it's not the season in Turkey right now. During this period of time, not so many Russians are resting in the country. The number of booked tours remains at the level of last year.

Recall that on the night of February 6, a powerful earthquake occurred in Turkey. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that such a large-scale phenomenon has not occurred in the country over the past 84 years. As a result of the earthquake, more than 2.8 thousand houses were destroyed. About 3.3 thousand people were killed. Seismic activity was also observed in neighboring Syria. The Red Cross reported about 1.5 thousand people killed in the earthquake in this country.
