Answering a question from journalists, the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, stressed: "The balloon does not belong to the United States. It belongs to China".

"If the Americans don't want to return Beijing to its rightful property, it only demonstrates their dishonesty", - Ambassador Lu said in an interview with the French news channel LCI.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China has also previously stated that it reserves the right to respond to the insane step of the United States, without explaining what exactly it will entail.

Meanwhile, the coordinator of strategic communications at the American National Security Council, John Kirby, openly stated that the United States "does not plan to return the wreckage of the downed balloon to China". And the Pentagon reported that they had already studied the equipment from the downed balloon and installed: it served the Chinese for intelligence gathering.

Speaking to Congress on Wednesday, President Joe Biden proudly declared: "As we have made clear to China, the United States will act decisively to protect its sovereignty - and we did it last week!".

The hype around the "spy ball" prompted Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to postpone his planned visit to China, which, according to Lu Shiye, was in any case untimely. "The Americans have done a lot of things against China lately", - Lu stressed in the same interview with LCI.
