According to the head of the Japanese government, Tokyo has no plans to abolish the portfolio of the Minister for the development of economic relations with Russia. Kishida also recalled that Japan's position on the issue of ownership of the Southern Kuriles will not change in the future.

"We consider it necessary to provide information and advice to companies that have invested in accordance with the plan, as well as to provide assistance for smooth care, depending on the circumstances", - TASS quoted the Japanese politician as saying.

Official Tokyo is interested in continuing negotiations with Moscow on concluding a peace treaty. The day before, the head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Yoshimasa Hayashi, indicated that the country adheres to the course of concluding a peace treaty with Russia, and also supports sanctions against Moscow.

Last March, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced Moscow's withdrawal from the dialogue with Tokyo regarding the conclusion of a peace agreement. The decision is related to Japan's sanctions after the start of the special operation. In autumn, the Russian side canceled the visa-free regime for visiting the Kuril Islands for the Japanese.
