Import of foreign cars through the customs of the Far East increased by 70% over the year

The head of the DVTU noted that 98% of foreign cars (197 thousand cars) were processed at the customs posts of the Vladivostok customs. According to him, most of the cars are traditionally imported from Japan for the region. In addition, the volume of imports of foreign cars from South Korea has increased. In addition, the first cars imported by individuals from China appear.

The head of the DVTU added that in January 2023, 22 thousand cars were imported through the customs of the Far East, which is 1.5 times less than in November and December last year.

"I think, to some extent, the market is sated. I believe that this year the number of cars imported from outside the Russian Federation through us will not increase dramatically", - Ladygin suggested (quoted by Interfax).

He added that DVTU continues to keep the situation under control, despite the reduction in the flow. If necessary, interaction with customs representatives and sea carriers is carried out. Depending on the situation, decisions are also made to increase the number of issuing inspectors or to extend their working hours.
