According to Kommersant, with reference to Tinkoff Bank's calculations, over the past five years, the level of spending by Russians on a love date in a restaurant on the day of February 14 has increased by 35%.
Most of the year, the cost of an evening for two in a cafe has risen in Omsk (+18%), less in Chelyabinsk and Voronezh (+11%). The reason was the increase in the cost of catering services. On average, the check in establishments in the country increased by 25%.
The most expensive date will be for Muscovites: in the capital, spending on the evening of February 14 will average 8675 rubles. A slightly cheaper date will cost in St. Petersburg (6501 rubles), Krasnodar (6485 rubles), Rostov-on-Don (5957 rubles), Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk (5826 rubles each). The minimum costs are waiting for residents of Perm (an average of 4629 rubles).
According to opinion polls, more than three quarters of Russians (76%) do not intend to celebrate Valentine's Day at all. About 13% plan to celebrate it at home, 6% — at work. More than a third of married or in a relationship men (36%) plan to give flowers to their lovers. In 2021, 40% of Russians planned to give flowers to their loved ones on this day.
Earlier, sociologists reported that over the past 15 years, the popularity of Valentine's Day in Russia against the background of the promotion of the national Day of Family, Love and Fidelity has fallen more than fourfold.
Earlier it became known that last year flower shops on the eve of the holiday raised prices for their services, but the rise in price of flower products was not as significant as on the eve of March 8.
