Russian President Vladimir Putin (pictured) met with Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov and congratulated him on the 30th anniversary of the party's formation. During the conversation, the Head of state stressed that the Communist faction makes a significant contribution to the political discussion and ensuring the security of the Russian Federation.

"I hope that, as a significant part of the patriotic movement in the country, the Communist Party will continue to fulfill this role. It makes a significant contribution to the political discussion, to the search for the most acceptable and rational solutions for the development of the country and in the social sphere, in the economy, in the field of defense and security – here we have never had any contradictions, in my opinion, on the contrary", - Putin said.

In his congratulatory speech, the President added that the Communist Party often leads the way and actively participates in discussions related to ensuring and improving the country's security.

The head of the Communists, in turn, thanked the Russian leader for his responsiveness, serious attitude to dialogues, support for proposals and legislative initiatives.

"In this regard, we value the dialogue that has developed – and especially at the present time, when, in fact, a crusade and a new war have been declared against our civilization, the entire Russian world," Zyuganov said.

He also noted the joint work in the direction of patriotic education of the younger generation, thanked the president for the support of the movement "Children of Russia – children of Donbass", emphasizing the effectiveness of the program.

"The fight against the Nazis, fascists today acquires, in my opinion, a fateful significance. I have worked in the Council of Europe for 20 years – I never imagined that Europe could fall under the Americans so much, and they just got impudent. But, I hope, we are obliged to win – and we will win," Zyuganov expressed hope, and Putin supported him with the answer "It will be so."
