The conflict between the players arose on political grounds. Ukrainian football players from the Transcarpathian club "Minai" demanded that the Yaroslavl "Shinnik" sing the Ukrainian anthem, and also asked why they did not go to rallies against the government.

According to the Telegram channel Baza, the incident occurred in the Turkish hotel Royal Seginus, where the players of both teams lived.

On the evening of February 13, several representatives of the Ukrainian club asked the head of the Yaroslavl Shinnik to sing the Ukrainian anthem. In response, he offered to go outside and sort it out. The hotel staff intervened in the conflict. Disassembly was prevented.

However, then the Ukrainian football players overtook one of the players of the Russian club in the elevator. They asked if he spoke Russian and then beat him up. But when the elevator arrived on the floor, the teammates of the beaten player were in the corridor. They stood up for the victim. A mass brawl began. The hotel staff had to call the police to calm down the players.

As a result of the fight, four Russian football players needed the help of doctors. It is not yet clear whether they will be able to enter the field in the near future.

The press service of Shinnik said that they would soon give an official comment on the fight in the Turkish hotel. This is reported by "Soviet Sport".

After the fight, the Russian football players said that the Ukrainians deliberately provoked them to fight with pro-Ukrainian slogans and questions about going to rallies. After the fight, the Ukrainians threatened the Russians with new clashes and recommended leaving the hotel as soon as possible.

Now there are occasional clashes between the players. To prevent new mass fights, two policemen remained on duty at the hotel. In addition, the hotel administration has assigned an additional security detail.

It's worth reminding that the Yaroslavl team is in Turkey for training camps.
