A blow below the belt! The American pharmaceutical company has stopped the supply of "Viagra" to Russia

"The medicinal product with the trade name "Viagra" corresponds to the international nonproprietary name (INN) sildenafil, its production is not localized in Russia", - is written in the message

The fact that the Americans will not supply "Viagra" in tablets to the Russian Federation, the manufacturers informed the Russians in 2022.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that "the technological possibility of producing drugs with the same active substance in the Russian Federation is provided".

Clinical trials of a domestic tablet drug containing sildenafil are organized within the framework of the state program "Development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry". Now these pills are registered in the Russian Federation with 36 companies that have received 49 registration certificates for drugs with the specified INN.

In the first 9 months of 2022, the production of domestic pills for potency increased by 11%, and sales growth was 15%.

It has not yet been reported whether local producers are able to fully saturate the domestic market after the cessation of supplies of American Viagra.

It is only noted that the production of medicines with INN sildenafil in Russia on a full cycle, including the synthesis of pharmaceutical substances, is now available to eight manufacturers out of 36.
