Armenia handed over draft peace agreement to Azerbaijan

"The draft of the final version of the agreement with our proposals has been submitted", - he said at a government meeting.

The document was also sent to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair countries — Russia, France and the USA.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that the draft agreement was created in order to be able to sign it at any time. In addition, the mechanisms prescribed in it should exclude the possibility of violating the truce. "It is clear that this document should also be acceptable for Azerbaijan," he said, adding that the country expects progress in resolving the conflict following the results of three stages of negotiations. The country expects to sign an agreement in this version.

Recall that the situation on the border of the two countries once again escalated in September last year. In December, Azerbaijan blocked the Lachin corridor connecting Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh. The Armenian authorities accused the Russian peacekeepers of not fulfilling their obligations to control this direction.
