Moldovan border guards found fragments of a missile allegedly fired from the territory of Russia into Ukraine on the border with Ukraine. The wreckage was found in the Brichansky district, the Interior Ministry of Moldova reported.

After finding the wreckage of the rocket, the police cordoned off the area. "The border Police provides perimeter security and is preparing to assist the investigation and the prosecutor's office", - the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that they are making every effort to ensure the safety of citizens.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs recalled that this is the fourth case when rocket fragments end up on the territory of the country. Missile fragments were found in the border areas in October and December last year, as well as in mid-January 2023. After verification, it turned out that these missiles were fired from Ukraine from the S-300 anti-aircraft complex.

On the eve of the Moldovan Defense Ministry said that the Russian missile, which was heading to Ukraine, violated the airspace of Moldova. The rocket flew over the cities of Mokra and Kosauts. The information was also confirmed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. He stated that two missiles were fired from the Black Sea. They crossed the borders of the airspace of Moldova and Romania, and then entered the airspace of Ukraine. The Romanian Defense Ministry denies the violation of their country's airspace.
