Over the past year, according to Solar Staff, referred to by Forbes, the volume of money transfers of Russian freelancers abroad has increased by 6.8 times. Solar Staff recorded such an indicator for freelancers who used the service both in 2021 and in 2022. The company analyzed transactions between its users over the years, who, when registering on the platform, indicated Russia as their country of residence. There were 89,000 such users in 2021 and 99,000 in 2022. The audience intersects by 40%. Last year, they transferred 103 million rubles to foreign cards against 15 million rubles in 2021. In 2021, all Russian users of the service transferred 27.2 million rubles to foreign cards, in 2022 - already 434.7 million rubles.
Most of the money was transferred to Georgian cards. During the year, about 100 million rubles were withdrawn, which is 53.25% more than in 2021. Kazakhstan was in second place in popularity - 46.3 million rubles were withdrawn there last year, not 1.3 million rubles a year earlier. Freelancers sent 43.3 million rubles to Armenia last year, and only one and a half million rubles in 2021. Turkey and Uzbekistan are in fourth and fifth places.
Earlier it was reported that over the past year, deposits of Russians abroad have tripled. If, as of the beginning of 2022, the deposits of Russians in non-resident banks amounted to 2.27 trillion rubles, then by January 1, 2023, the amount increased to 6.63 trillion rubles, or up to 94.3 billion dollars.
