A government commission has approved a deal for the sale of three IKEA factories in Russia: two large Russian furniture manufacturers intend to acquire the property.

According to Izvestia, Russian companies Slotex and Luzales will develop enterprises after the Swedish concern leaves the Russian Federation.

The publication notes that now IKEA's production facilities will continue to function, although in 2022 the Western concern announced the termination of work in the Russian Federation.

In total, IKEA has put up for sale four factories located in the Leningrad, Kirov and Novgorod regions.

After combining the two factories into one lot, three factories entered into the deal.

The amount of the upcoming deal for the sale of IKEA production facilities in the Russian Federation has not yet been announced.

According to Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov, new owners, if necessary, can count on all possible measures of state support that are in the arsenal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

"It is important for us that production facilities work and develop, jobs are saved," Yevtukhov said.

Earlier it was reported that after the closure of stores in the Russian Federation, IKEA held a large-scale online sale of its products in the summer of 2022.
