The Moldovan parliament has approved a new government headed by Dorin Rechan

"The government will pay priority attention to public order and the safety of citizens, ensure the stability and unity of the country through cohesion and an active foreign policy, as well as the modernization of law enforcement agencies" - Rechan said during the presentation of his program (quoted by RIA Novosti).

He noted the high security risks in the region, and also pointed to the "unprecedented threats and attempts of destabilization" faced by Moldova.

"The Parliament approved the candidacy of the Prime Minister and the program of the new government. 62 deputies voted in favor", - the chairman of the Moldovan parliament, Igor Grossu, announced the results of the vote (quoted by TASS).

It is noted that the new government was supported by the pro-European Action and Solidarity Party. At the same time, the leaders of the opposition Bloc of Communists and Socialists and the Shor party refused to vote.

The opposition bloc of Communists and Socialists of Moldova also appealed to the Constitutional Court, pointing to a violation of the procedure for appointing a new government.

"The bloc of Communists and Socialists will appeal to the Constitutional Court because of the imitation of consultations and violation of the procedure for appointing the government", - said the leader of the political force, Deputy speaker of Parliament Vlad Batryncha during the meeting (quoted by RIA Novosti).

Representatives of the opposition bloc also blocked the rostrum of the parliament, protesting against the restriction of their right to speak. During the voting, they chanted "shame".

Prior to the nomination of Rechan for the post of head of government, since February 2022, he was an adviser to the President of Moldova in the field of security and national defense. In the period 2010-2012, Rechan worked as Deputy Minister of Information Technology and Communications, after which he held the post of head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic until 2015. In 2016-2022, he worked in international organizations as consultants in the field of data analysis and information.
