According to Kommersant, based on the data of the "Wine Guide of Russia" produced by Roskachestvo, in the structure of sparkling wine production in Russia, brutes and ex-brutes began to displace semi-sweet drinks. During 2022, the output of Brutes increased by almost 42%, their share rose from 33.3% in 2021 to 33.7%.
Winemakers have increased the production of breweries to 6.1 million dal year-on-year. The production of semi-sweet sparkling wines increased by 17.9%, to 8.5 million dal. However, their share has fallen from 55.8% in 2021 to 52.5%. The total production of sparkling wines, according to Rosalkogolregulirovaniya, increased by 25% last year, to 16.1 million dal year-on-year. Last year, the range of Russian sparkling wines expanded by about 140 units, up to 1100 positions: about 80 new products accounted for brutes and extra-brutes, and 55 positions — for semi-sweet sparkling wines.
As the marketing director of Luding Group Andrey Ushakov specified, sales of breweries in 2022 grew at the highest rate among Russian sparkling wines - by 23.7%, semi—dry — by 2.1%, semi-sweet - by 0.2%. Sales of sweet sparkling wines decreased by almost 18% year-on-year.
Experts believe that the time of semi-sweet and semi-dry wines is gradually disappearing, and the competencies of Russian winemakers are growing.
Meanwhile, vodka production decreased by 3.5% in January. From January to September 2022, vodka sales in Russia increased by 6.4% to 3.4 million decaliters. By the way, liqueur wines show the fastest increase in production volumes in Russia.
