The closure is scheduled for March 1.

The temporary work stoppage is connected with the construction of a transport interchange hub - TPU "Rizhskaya". In addition, the station building itself will be modernized. The station will not work either for boarding or disembarking passengers.

"Due to the construction of the Rizhskaya TPU, the schedule for the Riga direction is changing from March 1, 2023 until the fall. There is no boarding and disembarking of passengers at the Riga railway Station", - the Moscow Department of Transport said in a statement.

They added that part of the suburban trains will be extended to the Kursky railway station via the Rizhskaya D2 station, part will run from/to Streshnevo D2. Trains of "Lastochka" type on the route Moscow — Muravyovo will follow from / to the Kursk railway station.

After the work is completed, trains D2, D3 and D4 will stop at the Rizhskaya TPU, and it will also be possible to transfer to the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line and the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line. Two new platforms will be built at the Riga Railway Station and the tracks will be updated.

Earlier today it became known that a man was detained at the Kursk railway station who had grenades, two anti-personnel mines and another unidentified explosive device.
