"Information has been received about the failure to communicate with the Robinson helicopter in the northeast of Sakhalin", - a source in the emergency services told RIA Novosti.

He added that, according to available information, there were three people on board. A helicopter search is underway. For these purposes, a ground rescue group was involved.

According to a TASS source, the helicopter disappeared from radar northeast of Krasnaya Mountain. It is also noted that an emergency beacon has worked for him. A ground rescue team on snowmobiles moved into the area. In addition, AN-26 and Robinson helicopters took off with rescuers on board. The Mi-8 helicopter is preparing for departure.

The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the information about the emergency landing of the aircraft.

"The message about the emergency landing of the Robinson R-44 helicopter northeast of Krasnaya Mountain was received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations from the search and rescue coordination center in the Sakhalin region. It is noted that 18 people and 8 pieces of equipment were sent to search for the missing board.
