According to Bloomberg, citing sources in the US administration, the United States is ready to announce new export controls to Russia and sanctions against key sectors of the Russian economy. The next round of anti-Russian sanctions will coincide with the anniversary of the special operation in Ukraine. Similar intentions were voiced by the countries of the "Big Seven" and the European Union.
Washington is ready to impose restrictions on the Russian defense and energy sectors, financial institutions, and several Russians. The measures will be aimed at stopping attempts to evade sanctions and circumvent them in order to undermine Moscow's support from third countries.
Earlier it was reported that on February 24 this year, the United States, together with partners in the "Big Seven", will announce new sanctions against Russia. This was stated by US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. At that time, the tenth package of EU sanctions was being discussed in parallel, but the adoption of measures "stalled" due to the divergence of the countries' positions regarding restrictions on the import of Russian rubber.
