Among the signatories are European countries, as well as Australia, South Korea and Japan.

The statement notes that the IOC's proposal to study ways of returning individual Russian and Belarusian athletes to competitions raises many questions and concerns. "There are no objective reasons to depart from the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian athletes, established by the IOC in a statement dated February 28, 2022", - is written in a joint statement published on the website of the British government.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) calls for allowing only those Russian and Belarusian athletes who do not support the current authorities in these countries to perform. It is suggested that in this case they can only compete at international competitions under a neutral flag. In the statement, the signatories ask not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Games. The proposals have been sent to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Recall that after the start of the special operation, the IOC made a recommendation not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions. After that, the committee recommended admitting athletes on the condition that they would perform under a neutral flag.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris.
